This is also what I would recommend for sieges. One other possible strategy could be to use the Huscarls to provide a shield wall for your Rhodoks while going up a hill, and you could dismount your Swadians, and have them march with the Huscarls to boost your usable army count. And then, right before the enemy to collide with my shield wall, my Swadians end those pathetic things that they call their lives. Then, the enemy charges straight into a wall of shields while being bombarded by hails of bolts.

My typical one is to let my Nords sit five paces in front of my Rhodoks, who are five in front of my Swadians. The best army combination, at least in my opinion, is as follows: DOES NOT USE RHODOKS CORRECTLY IN THE FIELD, BUT IN A SIEGE THEY ARE STILL THE MASTERS. Also, this makes it so you don't have to switch out your units at a castle constantly for siege and field, due to them, IF used correctly, effective in both areas.ĭISCLAIMER: DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES COMPARE RHODOKS IN THE FIELD UNDER THE CONTROL OF AN A.I. This is a REALLY good strategy, and you don't lose alot of morale due to having only two nation's units. They are good to flank the enemy with as my Sergeants lock shields with the enemy during my sharpshooter volleys. This makes them the most versatile unit and if they MUST go into melee, they can beat most melee units, like a tier 1-3 unit.īut, I do like to put ONE other nation's unit in my army, because the Rhodoks don't have them. A sharpshooter has a 1hander, shield, and really good armor for a ranged unit. Yes, an archer has increased fire rate, but he also runs out of ammo faster, is less accurate, doesn't do as much damage, and an archer has HORRIBLE melee capabilities. The Sharpshooter is my favorite ranged unit due to his Xbow. The Sergeant made to take on cavalry and to kill heavy units, while resisting them, due to them having the best armor a normal unit can have (meaning non-noble units). I've seen a Sergeant take on a huscarl and win, because the huscarls weaponry is designed for cutting, which means he only does his full damage against something like a farmer or light bandit. Yes the huscarl shield is good, I won't lie, but the Sergeant's is better, it has 10x the resistance and more health, and is even larger than a huscarls, so there is no possible way for them to get hit by ranged weapons, or even lance charges.

They also have a shield that is actually much better than a huscarl's. heavy armor, like the plate armor of Harlaus or surcoat with mail and all the "good" armor. Anyways, I like to have Rhodok Sergeants, which are actually cheaper, faster to train, and have a good anti-cavalry and anti-light armor glaive, a warhammer that does bonus damage vs. I seem to be the only guy in the world with this fav.
